Quick Curing Flooring Solutions for Fast Food Chain

Tremco CPG Europe in Sweden has delivered materials for the walls and floors of a brand new restaurant premises for McDonald's, in Gothenburg.

The restaurant's kitchen and dishwashing room needed a non-slip floor with quick installation, and the choice fell on CPG Europe's Vandex and Flowcrete brands.

The fast-curing mortar Vandex Cemrep 202 was used to build up the floor in the kitchen and dishwashing room. Vandex Rapid XL is specially designed to withstand loads as early as one hour after application.

This fast-curing mortar was used to build up floors and walls in the kitchen and dishwashing room.

On the floor of the kitchen and dishwashing room, Flowcrete Peran STB Struktur, a sand coating of two-component epoxy and polyurethane-coloured sand with a thickness of 3-4 mm, was applied. This flooring solution is often chosen because of its high anti-slip resistance, an important factor in environments where there may be water or dropped food residues on the floor.

Flowcrete RT, a polyurethane-based four-component flooring system, was used in the dishwashing area. The product, which has been specially developed for use in the food industry on surfaces exposed to hot water and steam washing, was ideal for the dishwashing room where kitchen equipment is likely to be rinsed and cleaned several times a day.

In addition to the high level of anti-slip protection, restaurant owners could also rely on chemical cleaners and hot water not to damage the floor covering, thanks to Flowcrete RT's high chemical and thermal resistance.

Assembly took two weeks to complete, which meant that the total construction time of 17 weeks for the entire building could be kept. Thanks to the fact that we were able to meet the customer's requirements and install products and systems successfully, we are now looking forward to providing more fast food restaurants with different design solutions, and more projects are already planned.
