Our leading brands develop products and services designed to extend the lifespan of high-performance buildings and infrastructure while reducing greenhouse gas emissions, enhancing energy efficiency and lowering costs. We incorporate bio-based and recycled materials into both our formulations and packaging to promote safe, environmentally responsible solutions.
Many products from RPM's four units also adhere to high industry standards and meet requirements for LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design), U.S. Green Building Council and EPA Safer Choice Program certifications, among others.
RPM remains on the cutting edge of sustainable product innovation by focusing on how our products are made and what they do. Our building products and services help our customers reduce their emissions, energy use and costs while extending the life of a building.
For example, Flowcrete UK has reintroduced a number of recycled products from industrial waste streams into its manufacturing processes for flooring solutions. Products include recycled pulverised fuel ash and ground granulate blast furnace slag, which lower CO2 emissions over traditional cement and enhance sustainability, performance and durability. Products in Flowcrete's seamless terrazzo range also contain recycled glass and mirror glass aggregates.
Within our industry leading product brands, we have introduced sustainable alternatives using the latest technology. Our product brand illbruck for example now produces sealants, coatings and adhesives based on hybrid technology. The SP products from illbruck are:
Furthermore, the products are odourless and the entire SP range has an EC1 Plus certificate. Products with this certificate have extremely low emissions of volatile substances. These 'green' alternatives maintain the same excellent performance that our customers are used to.
Across RPM companies, many of our products have earned certifications for adherence to sustainability-related standards, including – to name just a few-:
EPDs
As a member of the umbrella organisation for the adhesive and sealant industry FEICA, we subject our products to the requirements of the Environmental Product Declaration (EPD). Containing data on the environmental impact and performance of products, EPDs are verified by third parties. Based on these EPDs and Tremco CPG Europe product declarations, life cycle assessments for sustainable construction projects are reliably drawn up.
To reinforce product safety protocols, we also offer Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for many of our products to maintain transparency about the ingredients, hazard identification, handling and storage and personal protection information when using our products. In addition, Tremco CPG also offers online training and how-to videos on various products to provide a visual guide for product use.
