Case Study: Remagin by Etex - Projecting Window System Integration

Project Overview

Client: Remagin by Etex

Products:

Application: Offsite window installation & panel weatherproofing
Annual Usage: Approx. £120,000

Remagin, a leading innovator in offsite construction, has been successfully using the illbruck ME501 VV membrane system for more than three years. As part of their expanding offsite offering, Remagin sought to enhance the performance and value of their pre-manufactured panels, specifically through the factory installation of windows and improved integration of weatherproofing systems.

The development of their projecting window solution required a high-performance sealing system capable of bonding to both the window frame and weather defence boards. With increasing demand from their partnership with McCarthy Stone, Remagin needed a reliable method to install windows as part of the factory-built panel packages.

In addition, Remagin were seeking to replace traditional dense plastic DPC materials used beneath ground-floor panels. These site-applied components were often cumbersome, difficult to inspect, and slowed down installation activities. The goal was to move more processes into the controlled factory environment, improving consistency and reducing onsite labour.

The illbruck membrane and sealant system presented a strong opportunity to simplify production, improve long-term performance, and accelerate the development of Remagin’s offsite panel solutions.

Project Solution

A full suite of illbruck products was selected to support Remagin’s manufacturing needs, including:

  • ME501 VV / ME315 / ME220 for window perimeter sealing
  • SP525 for hybrid sealing and bonding
  • ME31 as a factory-applied replacement for traditional DPC materials

With guidance and application support from the Tremco CPG Offsite Team, these products were integrated into Remagin’s production line. This allowed for improved accuracy, cleaner detailing, and the development of a fully finished panel solution extending to the back of brickwork.

Application & Impact

Through its collaboration with the Tremco CPG Offsite Team, Remagin achieved:

  • Faster onsite weather-tightness - each floor becomes sealed upon installation
  • Reduced onsite labour by moving more processes into factory control
  • Improved quality assurance through consistent factory-applied membranes and tapes
  • Enhanced client value, with panels arriving more complete and ready for follow-on trades
  • Accelerated R&D development of their offsite window system
