Czechia Retailer chooses Tremco CPG for its Distinctive Showroom
An authorised distributor of Oakley sunglasses, the Streetstore located in Olomouc, Czechia chose solutions from Tremco CPG Europe product brands Flowcrete and illbruck during the construction of its unique store.
Specialising in outdoor equipment, the Streetstore wanted to differentiate itself from other similar shops and attract young, adventure‑minded customers. The distinctive two-storey design, created entirely out of steel-based containers, required solutions for joint sealing, window installation, and resin flooring systems to transform it into a contemporary retail space that meets all modern building requirements, both inside and out.
Tremco CPG Solutions
Windows
The interior connection joints were sealed using illbruck’s ME508 and PU foam FM355. For the exterior, Tremco CPG recommended illbruck’s TP602 impregnated tape thanks to its thermal and acoustic insulation and weather and UV resistance.
Outer Terrace
The EPDM membrane ME220 was applied on the terrace, located on the upper level of the container structure, to provide an excellent barrier to moisture and vapours.
Exterior Joints
To ensure an airtight and watertight connection, all exterior joints were sealed with the liquid, waterproofing membrane illbruck SP925.
Interior Applications
The wooden steps of the staircase were constructed using the fast-curing PU700 foam adhesive and bonded to the steel structure with the SP350 elastic adhesive, ideal for joints that require a little flexibility.
All interior panels were fixed with the double‑sided bonding tape TN140 and all plasterboard joints were sealed with the high movement, rapid curing SP525.
Flooring
To highlight the shop’s ultra‑modern design, the Streetstore selected a two‑colour resin floor. Tremco CPG recommended the polyurethane resin system Flowshield LXP in the following build‑up:
- Penetration layer:Peran STC – a two-component, epoxy-based clear resin system with high durability and excellent resistance to light and chemicals.
- Main layer:Flowshield LXP, 3 mm thanks to its superior resistance to high foot traffic and chemicals.
- Top layer:Flowseal PU Matt – a two-component polyurethane-based clear sealer with an extremely hard-wearing finish.
Opting for floors with high durability and chemical resistance is important for retail spaces that expect high volumes of foot traffic, and for areas that will be exposed to regular cleaning, often with chemical detergents. Systems with built in resistance to such factors give peace of mind that the flooring will stand the test of time.
