A recent collaboration with a large leisure home manufacturer showcases exactly how our tailored consultations make a difference.
The manufacturer was applying a traditional wet sealant to its units. This required multiple cleaning processes, both during and after production, to deal with excess sealant. Even after homes left the factory, the wet sealant attracted dirt, resulting in unsightly marks that impacted both aesthetics and long-term performance.
After reviewing the application method and overall process, our experts recommended replacing the wet sealant with Tremco’s TP610 impregnated foam tape. This shift eliminated the wet application step altogether – and with it, the messy cleaning processes, solvent usage, and post-production residue.
The Results?
By switching to TP610, the business achieved over £40,000 in savings on cleaning solvents and materials alone last year. The product also enabled faster production times through more streamlined processes, resulting in higher output capacity and reduced line downtime. Additionally, TP610 produced a neater, more durable seal, significantly improving the visual finish of each unit. While TP610 may seem more expensive on a price-per-unit basis, its introduction delivered a substantial net saving—far outweighing the initial investment—thanks to the boost in efficiency and reduction in rework.
